Why Does Lubbock Interfaith Hospitality Network Exist?

Almost 40% of all homeless individuals are families with children. Because these children miss school, medical appointments and other important experiences, their development is slower than other children who live in a stable family environment. Their parents also have less opportunity for good jobs and education. LIHN offers a home-like, family environment with comprehensive, individualized services to address family needs. The LIHN counselor works closely with the children's schools and with many other private and public community resources to help the family become independent in a place of their own.

Our Mission

To keep children from having to live on the streets and to keep families together while the parents work and save money to be able to have a place of their own. To provide a secure, home-like, family environment for children and their parents temporarily to allow parents the opportunity to get jobs, save money and find affordable housing for the family.
